MISSION & SERVICE

From its beginning, Methodism has sought to pair warm hearts (those met by a recognition of God’s love) with active hands (those willing to be put to God’s use).  Lone Oak UMC believes that following Jesus fully can take us into unexpected–even uncomfortable–places as we seek to be these people.  But we also believe that risk-taking mission and service is what reaches most broadly, embraces most fully, and transforms most deeply.

Examples of our mission and service include:

  • Serving at the local Family Kitchen
  • Reading with children at Scholar House of Paducah
  • Sorting and Stocking at Paducah Cooperative Ministry
  • Assembling Flood Buckets for disaster relief
  • Work days at Reelfoot Rural Ministries
  • Sorting seeds for Hope Seeds
